Your project’s source code does not need to be public during the Hacken audit stage. However, for the crowdsourced audit phase, the code should be made accessible to independent researchers on HackenProof.

What happens if a critical vulnerability is found?

Accepted Answer

A critical vulnerability is a severe security flaw that could lead to significant financial loss, unauthorized access, or compromise of the system’s integrity. If a critical vulnerability is found, you get to be the first to uncover it, verified by the HackenProof triage team. The white hat hacker who identifies the flaw is rewarded from the DualDefense FlashPool, so you don’t pay for the crowdsourced audit. Hacken provides immediate remediation on the spot, ensuring enhanced security and comprehensive protection for your project.

How are high, medium, or low issues handled during a crowdsourced audit?

While we prioritize critical findings, all issues, including high, medium, and low, are carefully reviewed. Clients will be able to see all findings in their HackenProof account, ensuring transparency. However, only critical issues are eligible for rewards under the DualDefense framework.

Where does the reward for white hats come from?

DualDefense is powered by DualDefense Flash Pools – 30-day staking smart contracts. The reward and APY are generated through Hacken sharing its revenue and $HAI holders staking their tokens in DualDefense Flash Pools. The Hacken team contributes USDC into the Flash Pool (typically a share of the audit cost), and $HAI holders stake their tokens as well. Clients gain enhanced security and comprehensive protection, while $HAI stakers can earn up to 180% APY.
