Hacken is partnering with Bluechip to embed a cybersecurity scoring methodology into the Implementation factor of Bluechip's SMIDGE framework, with a four-tier risk model for stablecoin architecture types, gradually rolling out across all 30 stablecoins Bluechip rates.
What is Bluechip?
Bluechip is an independent crypto rating agency focused on evaluating the economic safety and reliability of stablecoins.
Bluechip rates stablecoins on its SMIDGE framework: Stability, Management, Implementation, Decentralization, Governance, and Externals such as regulation and macro exposure.
Currently, Bluechip covers 30 stablecoins, rated from A+ down to F. These ratings are natively displayed by data partners like RWA.xyz, Reserve, Mt Pelerin, and others.
Bluechip also organises Bluechip26, the first crypto safety conference, presented by Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) and Mastercard.

Strengthening the Implementation Factor in SMIDGE
Hacken’s technical methodology integrates directly into the Implementation pillar of Bluechip’s SMIDGE framework. This brings two precise upgrades to Bluechip’s evaluation model:
- Verifiable Technical Metrics: Evaluates operational security and smart contract risk strictly through publicly attributable on-chain data and security certifications (such as SOC 2 Type 2).
- Architecture-Specific Risk Weighting: Categorises stablecoins into four distinct architectural tiers—adjusting risk weights so that stablecoins with minimal on-chain footprint are judged primarily based on operational security, while the complex protocols with substantial codebases are weighted heavily on smart contract security and reliability
Looking Ahead
Right now, digital assets are undergoing an unprecedented bridging with public markets, as more banks, asset managers, and governments interact with cryptocurrencies. They all need risk assessments and as few of the challenges digital markets present as possible.
For this, the Hacken and Bluechip collaboration has emerged, to help institutional market participants get accurate risk scores for every stablecoin listed on the Bluechip platform with actionable insights.
This is the first step in the partnership. Hacken and Bluechip will publish more on the technical rollout of scoring as we deliver it.
